Assistant Headteacher St John’s Church of England Primary School

Overview

The Aquinas CE Education Trust is seeking an Assistant Head Teacher to support the strategic leadership of St John’s Church of England Primary School, a leader who will challenge, inspire and drive school improvement to achieve the best outcomes for all students. You will work closely with the Headteacher as well as the Executive Director of Primary Education for the Trust to ensure our pupils receive the best education available.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised, caring and skilled practitioner who will support the Trust and Head Teacher in actively promoting the vison and ethos in every aspect of Trust and school life. This is the ideal opportunity for someone who is forward thinking, innovative in leadership and displays a passion for education, learning and well-being. 

Specific areas of responsibility will be agreed with the successful applicant but will include SEND across the school.

  • an exceptional individual who demonstrates energy, passion and excellence
  • able to demonstrate a proven track record of implementing change to raise standards and achievement for all students including the most disadvantaged and those with SEND.
  • highly committed and supportive of pupils, parents, staff, AAC members and the wider Trust networks.
  • able to take a lead role, working closely with the senior leadership team and other leading practitioners across the Trust in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and practice that lead to school improvement.
  • interested in undertaking research into best practice across and in other schools
  • an experienced leader (preferred >3 years) who is able to provide vision and inspiration for pupils and staff in pursuit of excellence
  • a flexible team player
  • a good communicator with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills who fully embraces our school ethos and Christian Vision.
  • a qualified SENCO, be working towards this or willing to undertake this whilst in role.
