Teaching Assistant and Afterschool Club Assistant - Fixed Term

Overview

We are looking to recruit a new Teaching Assistant and Afterschool Club assistant. You will join the Midday Supervisor team for the first hour and then support in the classroom. The successful candidate will have a calm and positive manner with children. Previous experience of working with children may be an advantage, but enthusiasm and willingness to work flexibly as part of a team are essential.

Personal attributes

The role will involve:

  • Always ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
  • Supervising conduct of pupils in the lunch hall and playground.
  • Setting up the lunch hall and cleaning after lunch.
  • Supporting and encouraging pupil’s social interaction and undertaking first aid as needed.
  • Supporting in the classroom to help the teacher deliver the curriculum and assist children.
  • To assist the leader in providing a caring, safe and secure environment.
  • Be adaptable to different ages, to be non-discriminatory.
  • To assist in planning and providing an appropriate range of activities for children.
  • Provide extra support for pupils with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Provide extra support for pupils with English as an additional language.
  • Undertaking first aid as needed, following health and safety guidelines.

Salary & Benefits

Grade:                                               Aquinas Grade A3.1

Actual Pro-Rata salary:          £12,500.01

Full time salary range:             £23,355.00 p.a.

Hours:                                                22.5 hrs per week Monday to Friday

Teaching Assistant 13:15-15:15 (2 hours per day)

Midday Supervisor 12:15- 13:15 (1 hour per day)

Afterschool Club     15:15-16:45 (1 hour 30 mins per day)

 

Weeks:                                              39 Weeks per year

Contract:                                           Fixed term to start 04.11.24 until 31.08.25
